1:00 - 2:15 PM

Ramona: Chicken tarragon sandwich, home made chips, key lime tarts, iced tea

Jim: BLTurkey (Bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato mayonaisse), creme brulee, iced tea

The service is slow -- as it should be for a relaxing lunch. Everything is made to order. I left the bacon off of my sandwich, and it was still great. The decor is Victorian, which suits this cafe perfectly. We have never had anything but an outstanding lunch at Jessie's Delights.

If you haven't visited Lorena, do so next weekend. It is a quiet, sweet little town about 15 miles south of Waco on I-35. A couple of antique shops surround Jessie's, along with The Village Lamplighter, a terrific store for all things to do with lighting. We also noticed a new shop which will open in a couple of weeks. The Texas Cheese Shop will offer fresh made cheese from all around Texas.
