Ramona: New England style clam chowder, Shrimp Louie salad, frozen strawberry daiquiri

Jim: New England style clam chowder, fried fish platter, french fries, iced tea with lime

Another terrific meal on this little weekend getaway to the Texas Gulf coast. We were guests of friends were visiting, so this was a nice treat.

The soup was thick, hot, and not overly spiced -- exactly the way i like it. I got the children's fried fish platter, and it was plenty for me.

Ramona's salad was impressively displayed. With lots of shrimp, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, scallions, and lettuce, she could not finish it. She also felt the salad dressing was something special.

Our waitress was not as attentive as she could have been. We had to ask several times for extra limes and drink refills.

Overall, a good experience right on the Gulf, with a nice breeze blowing through on a humid afternoon.

We love Virginia's, too. Next time also try Trout Street Grill next door. Our all-time favorite in Port A is Beach and Station Street Grill. There's a bakery next door to BSSGrill--can't remember the name but it's good!
