Lunch -- 6/15/08

103 Restaurant Lounge
985 Highway 80 East (I-30 exit 103)
Calhoun, LA 71225

2:00 -- 2:45 PM

Ramona: Catfish and fries, iced tea

Jim: Cajun chicken tenders, fries, and iced tea

Anticipating an arrival time in Waco of about 8:00 PM, we decided to hold off on lunch until about two. We were in the middle of nowhere in Louisiana, and there were no food places of any kind we recognized. We saw a sign for "103 Restaurant," and decided to try it. I had immediate misgivings, because it was attached to a truck stop, but we were hungry, and the inside was attractive and clean.

This will be a regular stop on our trips across LA from now on. The food was made to order, and it was delicious. Ramona could barely finish her two large catfish fillets, and I was barely able to help her after my tasty (and only slightly spicy) Cajun chicken. Both dishes were perfect, and held us until we got to Cheddar's in Waco at about 8:15 PM
