Bistro 301 is a great place for lunch just across the street from the Louisville Convention Center. However, its popularity means that there often is a short wait for a table. We were lucky today; since I didn't have any meetings, I was able to get there shortly before 12 and snared the last available table. It was a short wait for Jim to join me.

The Kentucky Hot Brown is a classic dish created in Louisville in 1926. Bistro 301's rendition consists of smoked turkey, bacon, tomato, Parmesan and Jack cheese, finished with Mornay sauce and served golden brown. Jim was a little disappointed in the dish and also with the lack of regular mustard for his fries. I had no complaints!
