Ramona: Roast turkey, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, iced tea
Jim: Roast turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes, iced tea
The last leg in our trip to Louisville, KY began on Thursday morning, leaving Knoxville after three nights with my son's family. Cracker Barrel is always a great and dependable place to stop for meals on the road, especially on Thursdays, which is "turkey day" at Cracker Barrels everywhere.
Breakfast is also especially good at CB and is served all hours. It is one of the few places in Texas where you can get country ham; great with grits! I've recently discovered that you can purchase the ham there and take it home to cook at a later date.

Ramona & Jim: Roast Turkey Dinner, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, iced tea
We were eating at Cracker barrel, so it must be Thursday. The only place to get a turkey dinner in Waco is at our Cracker Barrel, so, whenever we are on the road on a Thursday, that's where we eat. We had to ask for cranberry sauce (a minor annoyance), and then the server told us they were out, which sounded kind of weird to be out so early on the only day they offered turkey! However, a few minutes later, she came out with two servings, complaining someone had moved them.
Is it our imagination or are portions getting smaller in restaurants these days?
Nevertheless, the turkey was delicious.

We decided Sunday morning that we were in the mood for ham, but it turns out our grocery stores were closed for Easter, so we just went out for it to Cracker Barrel. Everything was wonderful. We didn't even have to wait for a table!
