Ramona: Caesar salad, prime rib, loaded baked potato, iced tea
Jim: Caesar salad, prime rib, baked sweet potato, iced tea
Shared: Appetizer -- shrimp on the barbie
Since we had a somewhat bad experience on our Friday night outing, we decided to make things right with another dinner out on Saturday.
One of Jim's favorite meals is steak, shrimp, Caesar salad, and iced tea. Friday night and time for our occasional red meat feast, so we decided on Outback. We arrived at a perfect time and were immediately seated. Not long after we arrived, there were quite a few people waiting.
The meal was perfect, but the service was so-so. We had to ask twice for several things -- bread, creamy horseradish sauce, and, of course, extra lemons. The server seemed a bit nervous. We hope our picture isn't hanging in half the restaurant kitchens in Waco!

Ramona: Chopped bleu cheese salad, Strawberry Swirl Margarita, 7 oz. "Victoria" filet, loaded baked potato, iced tea
Jim: Caesar salad, 16oz Prime Rib with creamy horseradish sauce, loaded baked potato, iced tea
Shared: Spinich and artichoke dip with pumpernickel toast, lobster tail
This was a celebration of the end of Spring semester, and we both craved steak, so Outback was the best choice. I always get the prime rib, because it is the best PR in Waco. Ramona always gets a filet, and both were good. We were a bit fearful about going out to eat this weekend, because of "the wedding" in Crawford. Everyone was predicting jammed restaurants, but not Friday night.
Despite the lack of a crowd, once aagin we felt rushed and pestered by our server. I am going to begin saying something. We were not finished our salads when she brought our entrees. I guess the manager believed the rumors. Even when we left there were empty tables and no one waiting.

Appetizer (shared): Lobster Crab Cakes (2) with remoulade sauce
Jim: Ribeye steak, loaded baked potato, Caesar salad, iced tea
Ramona: Prime rib, loaded baked potato, chopped blue cheese salad, Long Island tea
Outback is a perennial favorite for a semi-special occasion, so it was our first choice for our 200th week anniversary. The lobster crab cakes were new to the menu so we gave them a try and were not disappointed. Everything was good and the service was just attentive enough without being too overbearing. (We can't stand it when our wait staff hover around and ask us how everything is every two minutes.)
